I'll NEVER understand why people put their lives at risk by going to shady plastic surgeons. Sure, you save a few bucks . . . but do you really want someone operating on your face in a station wagon parked behind an Arby's?
--That's how 22-year-old Mayra Contreras of Pacoima, California, DIED recently. Mayra wanted PLUMP and JUICY BUTTOCKS . . . but she didn't want to pay a REAL plastic surgeon to make it happen.
--So Mayra went to two sisters, 53-year-old Guadalupe and 50-year-old Alejandra Viveros of Sylmar, California. Guadalupe and Alejandra have been running an underground plastic surgery business on the outskirts of Los Angeles for years.
--They injected Mayra's buttocks with silicone . . . a LOT of silicone. And Mayra died. The Los Angeles police believe that the sisters fled to Mexico.
--Basically, it can be really dangerous to have silicone injected into your body, especially in large quantities. Professionals only use medical-grade silicone for breast implants, and they make sure it's injected inside a capsule for safety.
--Amateur surgeons might just inject silicone directly . . . and use cheaper and more dangerous industrial silicone. In that process, it's easy for the injector to hit a vein, get silicone in the blood stream . . . and cause lung failure or death.
(--Here are Guadalupe and Alejandra's mugshots, from a previous arrest. And you can tell they've used themselves as guinea pigs . . .)
