Wednesday's Back In The Day Events

 

1910 - A couple from China became the YOUNGEST PARENTS IN HISTORY.  The dad was NINE and the mother was EIGHT years old.

 

 

1915 - THE U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES RIGHTLY REJECTED A PROPOSAL TO GIVE WOMEN THE RIGHT TO VOTE!!!  (--KIDDING HONEY!!!  Have I told you how skinny you look this morning???)

 

 

1960 - SMELL-O-VISION DEBUTED!!!  What's Smell-o-Vision you ask???  Well, the brilliant Michael Todd, Jr. treated viewers of his film, "A Scent of Mystery", to such odors as garlic and tobacco that were piped into the theater as they appeared on-screen!!!

 

 

1966 - THE ONE TRUE BATMAN, ADAM WEST, first donned his tight gray leotards when "Batman" premiered on ABC!!!  Young BURT WARD played Robin the Boy Wonder, and the ambiguously gay caped crusaders fought crime for three seasons!!! 

 

 

1971 - "All In The Family" premiered on CBS.

 

 

1976 - Murder mystery writer AGATHA CHRISTIE died at the age of 85, of natural causes.  OR WERE THEY???

 

 

1994 - A federal jury ruled that MICHAEL JACKSON did NOT steal the songs "Thriller", "The Girl Is Mine" and "We Are the World" from his former neighbors in Gary, Indiana.  (???)

 

 

1995 - The O.J. SIMPSON trial began in Los Angeles.

 

 

1998 - CARLOS SANTANA became the FIRST HISPANIC inducted into the ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME.  O-lay!!!

 

 

2003 - BEE GEE MAURICE GIBB died of a heart attack at the age of 53.

 

 

2010 - PORT-AU-PRINCE, HAITI was struck with a 7.0 magnitude earthquake.  An estimated 150,000 people lost their lives.
