On the "Today" show yesterday, JENNIFER LOPEZ was asked about her future on "American Idol" . . . and, well, there isn't much new to report.
--She seemed genuinely torn over whether or not she wanted to do another season . . . but she's leaning toward going. (--Which is basically what we've been hearing.)
--She said, quote, "I've loved it so much . . . but I have to say that there are so many other things that I do that I put on hold for that . . . it's a heart-breaking decision if I'm going to have to go.
--"Everybody wants that definite 'yes' or 'no' . . . I've enjoyed it so much, but I am thinking that maybe it's time for me to go and do other things that I really love to do, like films . . . and performing."
(--You can find video of the interview at the "Today" show's website. The part about "Idol" begins at the 2:16 mark.)

--Meanwhile, so-called "sources" tell Deadline.com that J-Lo is STILL in talks with "Idol", and that the negotiations are, quote "complicated and fluid".
--And later yesterday, J-Lo said Steven leaving could play a role in her decision. She added, quote, "I can't even imagine anyone else there right now because I've just spent two years sitting next to him . . . it's hard to hear that he won't be doing it."
