PPM Brief:
A few weeks ago, a church in Spain got money from the granddaughter of a famous artist, to restore a painting of Jesus. Unfortunately, an 80-year-old member of the church heard about the restoration, and took it upon herself to do it without permission. She ended up turning Jesus into something resembling a monkey, an alien, and an Eskimo.
Full Story:
A few weeks ago in Spain, the granddaughter of a 19th-century Spanish painter named Elias Garcia Martinez donated money to a church in Borja, Spain. She wanted to restore one of her grandfather's famous paintings of Jesus on their walls.
--There was only one problem. An 80-year-old member of the church heard about the plan to restore the painting . . . and took it upon HERSELF to do the touch-up job, without permission.
--And she turned Jesus into a hilarious and childish mixture of an alien, a monkey, and an Eskimo.
--The woman turned herself in to local authorities, but it's doubtful anything will happen to her.
