"Dear Abby" Has Died

 

PAULINE PHILLIPS . . . the creator of the "Dear Abby" advice column . . . died Wednesday after a battle with Alzheimer's disease.  She was 94.

 

 

--Pauline started the column in 1956.  In 1987, her daughter JEANNE started writing it with her.  Pauline retired in 2002, after she started showing symptoms of Alzheimer's, and Jeanne took over the column completely.

 

 

--Pauline's twin sister ESTHER "EPPIE" LEDERER wrote the "Ann Landers" advice column.  She died in 2002, at the age of 83.

A Report That Dear Abby Died
