Jamie Kennedy Is *Not* In "Scream 4"

The debate is over:  JAMIE KENNEDY will NOT be in "Scream 4".

--As you may recall, Jamie's character, Randy, DIED in "Scream 2", but was seen in "Scream 3" via a videotape he'd recorded before his death.

--But screenwriter KEVIN WILLIAMSON says there's no logical way to bring Randy back . . . so instead, they're letting him REST IN PEACE.

--He says, quote, "We're not that universe where you can bring people back from the dead.  That would be just a cheat.  It's such a disservice.

--"I would love nothing more than to have Jamie Kennedy in the film.  However to have Randy in the film . . . I just won't do it.  I can't do that.  I just won't do it."

(--Are they making the right decision here, or are they taking their little movie way too seriously???)

(--If you think about it, the purpose of the "Scream" movies was always to toy with all the slasher movie clichés.  Well, one of the biggest slasher movie clichés of them all was finding contrived ways to bring dead people back for sequels.)

(--It just seems to me like they're missing the perfect opportunity to do something witty and clever with that.)
